CPM MagnaCut – a powder-metallurgical stainless steel manufactured using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process and hardened to a range of 60.5–62.5 HRC. A high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo), and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees precision and purity unmatched by more “conventional” steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. Thanks to CPM MagnaCut, we have succeeded in creating a steel that, like no other, combines the exceptional properties of knife steels. The result is a blade material that offers an extraordinary balance between wear resistance, strength, and corrosion resistance. Currently, there is no other steel on the global market that offers a comparable combination of excellent properties. This exceptional steel is manufactured in American steel mills by Crucible® Industries.

PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) - the surface resistance of the blade and cutting edge has been enhanced using a vacuum deposition method applied to deposit thin layers by condensing the vaporized form of the desired material onto the surface of the workpiece. The coating method involves a purely physical process, such as high-temperature vacuum evaporation followed by condensation. The applied coating has very high hardness, which significantly increases the blade’s resistance to rust and abrasive wear.

Blade—with a Wharncliffe profile—features a reinforced tip and a straight cutting edge, which translates to a wide range of applications—from precision cuts to tasks requiring force. The MagnaCut steel used is a modern alloy combining corrosion resistance, high edge retention, and chipping resistance, making it an ideal material for heavy-duty use. The black PVD coating enhances durability and scratch resistance while enhancing the knife’s visual appeal. The blade is opened using an oval thumb hole, allowing for quick and intuitive one-handed deployment.

Handle - made of milled titanium creates a cohesive, rigid structure with a distinctly technical character. Dense, rhythmic milling not only highlights the design’s aesthetics but also improves the handle’s slip-resistant properties. The frame lock has been reinforced with a steel insert, ensuring durability and reliable operation even with heavy use.
