VG-10 – a high-carbon stainless alloy tool steel grade developed specifically for the manufacture of high-quality blades and knives. The steel formula was developed in Japan by Takefu Special Steel Co., Ltd., headquartered in Takefu, Fukui Prefecture. Initially used in the production of kitchen knives, it quickly found application as an excellent material for utility blades. Due to import restrictions, nearly all VG-10 steel knives are manufactured in Seki, Japan.
Crossbar Lock - a crossbar that moves horizontally within longitudinal slots in the steel side plates of the Handle frame. When the knife is opened, the locking bar engages from above with the rear part of the blade, preventing it from moving back. This bar is held in place by two springs. Unlocking occurs by pulling the locking bar backward; its ends are accessible through notches in the handle grips. In the closed position, the bar presses against a cam surface at the rear of the blade, preventing it from opening spontaneously.
