14C28N - martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest achievement in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelworks Sandvik. An optimized chemical composition with a unique combination ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness, and corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding nitrogen 0.11% (N) significantly increased corrosion resistance. Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel has undergone a specialized heat treatment process comprising two key stages. Vacuum Heat Treatment (vacuum heat treatment), the steel is hardened in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the steel’s strength and structural integrity. Cryogenic Treatment (cryogenic treatment) after heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation converts residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance, and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N delivers exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and remarkable blade durability.
Blade - Spear Point style, single-edged. Finished using a beadblasted method to mask minor scratches caused during use. The cutting edge with a distinctly distinct belly tapers toward the sharp tip of the blade. The blade thickness ensures high durability while flat grind (Flat Grind) provides excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The finger loop further stabilizes the grip and prevents the knife from accidentally slipping out of your hand.
ULTEM™ - a polymer belonging to the polyetherimide family, or simply PEI. This material is characterized primarily by high mechanical and impact strength with a very high strength-to-weight ratio. It also features high thermal resistance (180°C) and high chemical resistance to all types of solvents (synthetic and natural), lubricants, and other chemicals. Add to this its complete resistance to weather conditions, and we have the ideal material for knife handles.
Handle - grips made of grips made of ULTEM composite, a material that is extremely mechanically durable and practically completely resistant to weather conditions and chemicals, textured to improve grip. The contoured shape ensures a comfortable, secure grip even with wet hands.
