M390 Microclean® - a martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced using powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy’s composition, it features exceptionally high wear resistance and excellent corrosion resistance. Thanks to its high wear resistance, it retains its edge shape well, allowing the blade to stay sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another advantage is its resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. High-chromium steel 20.0% (Cr) with an alloying content of 1.9% carbon (C) and 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to a hardness range of 59–61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter’s CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Cerakote™ - a ceramic-based finish that can be applied to metals, improving a range of physical properties, including resistance to abrasion/wear and corrosion. A thin-film, non-reflective, matte protective coating with a low coefficient of friction, resistant to high temperatures, chemicals, and impact. It ensures durability and hardness.
Blade - machine-ground S/E (Single Edge) Drop Point, single-edged with a long line of fuller grooves on both sides of the blade. Strikingly coated with Cerakote in a color reminiscent of the white armor of Imperial stormtroopers. The blade features a high flat grind, ensuring excellent cutting performance. As a result, while maintaining high strength, the knife has outstanding piercing capabilities. The robust blade extension/retraction mechanism, operated by a knurled Thumb Slide, a stepped thumb slide, requires a specific amount of force to overcome spring resistance for safety. This opening method ensures smooth operation for both right- and left-handed users.
Handle - in a white finish, with black screws, slide, and clip. The presentation side features a deeply engraved Imperium emblem, the symbol of the Storm Trooper series. The scales are precision-machined using 3D technology on CNC mills from 6061-T6 aluminum. The texture of the handle prevents the knife from slipping in the hand during use. There are jimping grooves on the spine and bottom of the handle for a more secure grip. The slim profile and a milled, two-position (right/left) solid deep carry clip allow for discreet carrying of the knife in a pocket in the tip-down position (blade tip pointing down). The clip features the Microtech logo, serial number, and date of manufacture.
The handle is finished with a glass-breaking pommel, a solid steel triangle into which a tungsten carbide ball has been pressed. It also features a hole for threading a decorative lanyard.
