308,49 €This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
Ultratech Gen IV S/E Black Aluminum, Stonewashed is a full-size OTF (Out The Front) automatic knife from the Ultratech series. The fourth generation features a number of improvements, such as the Crud Kutter™ and Dual-Fuel Drive Train™. The handle has also been redesigned, incorporating features found in other models. Operating in D/A (Double Action) mode, it allows for instant deployment and retraction of the blade with a single thumb motion. Designed by Tony Marfione, owner of Microtech Knives, it combines modern design with the highest quality craftsmanship.
Dual-Fuel Drive Train™ - an upgraded knife opening/closing system; the mechanism operates more smoothly and requires less force to open/close the knife.
Crud Kutter™—a series of angled notches beneath the opening slider that prevents the buildup of debris that could interfere with the opening mechanism.
Ultratech OTF Line - the flagship model of Microtech from the OTF line, which set the standard for all Out The Front knives. The proprietary design of the Ultratech trigger spring, which remains in the “rest” position at all times, except when in use.
This prevents spring fatigue, reducing wear on the internal trigger mechanisms and ensuring the knife will always function effectively. Its light weight, one-handed opening and closing, slim handle shape, and sharp blade make this a one-of-a-kind knife, available only from Microtech.
M390MK - through the collaboration of engineers from Microtech and Böhler, an exclusive version of M390 steel was developed exclusively for Microtech. The carbon content was increased and subjected to more rigorous control, thereby improving the properties of M390 steel to ensure better edge retention, corrosion resistance, and polishability. A martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced using powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy composition, it features exceptionally high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Thanks to its high wear resistance, it retains its edge shape well, allowing the blade to stay sharp for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). Another advantage is its resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr), alloyed with 1.95% carbon (C) and 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to a range of 59–61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - machine-ground S/E (Single Edge) Drop Point, single-edged, with a long line of fuller grooves on both sides of the edge. Finished with a Stonewashed finish to mask minor scratches caused during use. The blade features a high flat grind, ensuring excellent cutting performance. This allows the knife to maintain high strength while offering outstanding piercing capabilities.
The robust blade extension/retraction mechanism, operated by a knurled Thumb Slide, a stepped thumb slider, requires a specific amount of force to overcome spring resistance for safety. This opening mechanism ensures smooth operation for both right- and left-handed users.
Handle - precision-machined using 3D technology on CNC mills from Mil-Spec hard-coated 6061-T6 aluminum. The handle’s textured surface prevents the knife from slipping in the hand during use. There are notches (jimping) on the back and bottom of the handle for a more secure grip. The slim profile and a milled, two-position (right/left) solid deep carry clip allow for discreet carrying of the knife in a pocket in the tip-down position (blade tip pointing down). The clip features the Microtech logo, serial number, and date of manufacture. The handle is finished with a glass-breaking pommel, a solid steel triangle into which a tungsten carbide ball has been pressed. It also features a hole for threading a decorative cord.
