The Fox Chnops Heritage Dark Matter Carbon Fiber, Stonewashed Hybrid Cryo folding knife by Raven Knives Design (FX-544 DMB) combines a Hybrid Cryo steel blade with a decorative Black Dark Matter Carbon Fiber handle. Designed by Riccardo Gobbato, it retains the elegant, slender form of the Chnops, while the stonewashed finish on the blade emphasizes the utilitarian nature of this Heritage version.
The 75.00 mm Drop Point blade features a flat grind and a plain edge. The manual flipper works in conjunction with a Liner Lock, and the reversible deep-carry clip allows the knife to be carried tip-up on either the right or left side.
Hybrid Cryo 59–61 HRC and Flat Grind
The blade is made of Hybrid Cryo steel, hardened to 59–61 HRC. The flat grind provides a functional geometry designed for precise and everyday cutting tasks.
Drop Point and Stonewashed
The Drop Point profile offers a versatile edge line, a practical spine, and a well-controlled tip. The stonewashed finish gives the surface a matte, irregular character that matches the technical aesthetic of carbon fiber.
Black Dark Matter Carbon Fiber
The handle features Dark Matter Carbon Fiber with a distinctive layered structure. The composite provides a lightweight and rigid construction, and the Black Dark Matter pattern is one of the most striking visual elements of this Chnops version.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for Hybrid Cryo steel blade?
Keep the blade clean and dry it thoroughly after contact with moisture. For long-term storage, you can use a suitable preservative.
How do I sharpen a Drop Point blade?
It is best to sharpen a Plain Edge at a constant angle while guiding the tool evenly. Reduce pressure near the tip to preserve the factory profile.
How does the Liner Lock work?
A spring-loaded liner bar locks the blade in place once it is opened. Pushing the liner bar away from the blade base releases the mechanism and allows the knife to be folded.
How do you clean Dark Matter Carbon Fiber?
It is best to wipe the composite with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid harsh abrasives that could affect the surface’s appearance.
How to maintain the pivot?
It’s a good idea to regularly clean the area around the pivot of dust and debris, and, if necessary, apply a small amount of a light lubricant designed for folding knives.
