The Microtech Ultratech Gen IV D/E 11224-1COD is an OTF automatic knife featuring a double-edged Dagger blade made of Böhler M390MK steel. The 6061-T6 aluminum frame and blade are coated with an olive green Cerakote finish, creating a unified, tactical look.
The Double Action OTF mechanism allows the blade to be automatically extended and retracted using a slide. Generation IV features an upgraded Dual-Fuel Drive Train and the Crud Kutter system, and the knife comes equipped with a titanium clip with a ceramic ball and a steel glass breaker.
Böhler M390MK – Durability and Long-Lasting Sharpness
The blade is made of Böhler M390MK steel, developed for Microtech in collaboration with Böhler. The alloy provides high resistance to corrosion and wear, as well as excellent edge retention, which suits the Ultratech’s practical nature well.
Dagger, flat grind, and olive-green Cerakote
The double-edged Dagger profile features symmetrical geometry and a centrally located tip. The flat grind facilitates smooth cutting through material, while the olive-green Cerakote finish creates an additional protective layer on the blade’s surface and gives it a uniform color.
6061-T6 Aluminum and Gen IV OTF Mechanism
The handle is made of 6061-T6 aluminum coated with olive-green Cerakote. The contoured body retains the Ultratech’s characteristic proportions.
The blade extends and retracts automatically via a slide mechanism. The Dual-Fuel Drive Train system powers the Gen IV mechanism, while the Crud Kutter helps reduce friction and the effects of small debris accumulating around the control element.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for Böhler M390MK steel?
After use, clean the blade and dry it thoroughly. M390MK is highly corrosion-resistant, but regular maintenance helps keep the edge and surface in good condition.
How do I sharpen a double-beveled Dagger blade?
Both edges should be sharpened symmetrically, maintaining the factory geometry. A good starting point is approximately 15–20° per side, using abrasives suitable for high-wear-resistant steel.
How does the Double Action OTF mechanism work?
Pushing the slide forward automatically extends the blade, while pulling the slide back automatically retracts it into the handle. There is no need to manually fold the blade.
How do you care for a Cerakote finish?
It’s best to clean the surface with a soft cloth and a mild cleaner, without using harsh abrasives. After exposure to moisture, be sure to dry the knife thoroughly.
How do you maintain the Ultratech Gen IV mechanism?
The interior of the mechanism should be protected from excessive sand, dust, and other fine debris. Regular cleaning and the use of products suitable for OTF mechanisms help maintain smooth slider operation.
