The Microtech MSI Mini RAM-LOK 210M-10FRTA is a compact EDC folding knife featuring a Wharncliffe blade made of Böhler M390MK steel and a Tan-colored aluminum handle. The milled “Frag” pattern adds texture to the surface, while the stonewashed finish gives the blade a subdued, utilitarian look.
The knife is manually opened using thumb studs. Ball bearings ensure smooth blade operation, and the RAM-LOK lock stabilizes the blade when open. The design is complemented by a titanium backspacer and a steel clip.
Böhler M390MK – steel developed for Microtech
The blade is made of Böhler M390MK steel, a special grade of M390 developed for Microtech in collaboration with Böhler. The material offers high resistance to corrosion and wear, as well as excellent edge retention.
Wharncliffe, flat grind, and stonewashed finish
The Wharncliffe profile provides a long, functional cutting edge and a precise tip, which performs well during controlled cuts. The flat grind facilitates smooth gliding of the blade through the material, while the stonewashed finish complements the knife’s utilitarian character.
Tan Frag Aluminum and RAM-LOK
The handle is made of Tan-colored aluminum and finished with a milled Frag pattern. The geometric texture improves the grip and gives the handle a distinctive, technical look.
The RAM-LOK lock uses a transverse element to lock the blade. Manual opening is achieved using thumb studs, and Ball bearings ensure smooth operation of the mechanism.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for the Böhler M390MK?
After use, it’s a good idea to clean the blade and dry it thoroughly. The M390MK is highly corrosion-resistant, but periodically applying a small amount of protective coating helps keep the surface in good condition.
At what angle should I sharpen the Microtech MSI Mini?
A good starting point is approximately 15–20° per side, preferably while maintaining the factory edge geometry. For the M390MK, it’s best to use high-performance abrasives suitable for steel with high wear resistance.
How does RAM-LOK work?
RAM-LOK uses a transverse locking element that stabilizes the blade when fully extended. The mechanism can be released without placing your fingers directly in the path of the folding blade.
How do you clean the aluminum Frag-patterned handle?
It’s best to clean the surface with a soft brush or a slightly damp cloth, paying attention to the recesses of the milled pattern. After cleaning, the handle and steel components should be thoroughly dried.
How to maintain ball bearings?
It’s a good idea to periodically clean the pivot mechanism of dust and fine debris. After cleaning, you can apply a small amount of appropriate lubricant for knife mechanisms.
