The Microtech M-Stitch RAM-LOK 169MRL-10APFRNC is a compact folding knife based on the distinctive Stitch design, created by Borka Blades and developed in collaboration with Tony Marfione. The Spear Point blade made of Böhler M390MK steel, featuring an Apocalyptic finish, and an aluminum handle with a natural, clear finish create a technical and distinctive configuration.
The handle is covered with a milled “Frag” pattern, which emphasizes the utilitarian nature of the design and increases the texture of the grip surface. Manual opening is achieved via a hole in the blade, and the RAM-LOK lock ensures its stability. The blade operates on ball bearings.
Böhler M390MK – steel developed for Microtech
The blade is made of Böhler M390MK steel, a special grade of M390 developed for Microtech in collaboration with Böhler. The material is distinguished by its high resistance to corrosion and wear, as well as its excellent edge retention, which makes it well-suited for a compact folder intended for regular use.
Spear Point, flat grind, and Apocalyptic finish
The Spear Point profile gives the blade the aggressive geometry characteristic of the Stitch family, with a strongly accentuated tip. The flat grind ensures versatile cutting performance, while the Apocalyptic finish gives the surface a deliberately aged, raw look.
Natural Clear Frag and RAM-LOK lock
The aluminum handle features a natural, clear finish and a milled Frag pattern. The bright aluminum surface contrasts with the Apocalyptic blade, and the geometric texture emphasizes the technical nature of the design.
The blade is opened manually using a hole in its surface. The mechanism is based on ball bearings, and once fully open, the blade is stabilized by the RAM-LOK lock. The steel clip can be moved to the right or left side, allowing you to carry the knife in a tip-up configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for Böhler M390MK steel?
After use, it’s a good idea to clean the blade and dry it thoroughly. M390MK is highly corrosion-resistant, but regular care helps keep both the surface and the cutting edge in good condition.
How do you sharpen the Microtech M-Stitch?
It’s best to maintain the factory edge geometry and guide the abrasive material along its contour. High-performance abrasives, especially diamond ones, work well with M390MK.
How does the RAM-LOK lock work?
RAM-LOK uses a crossbar to lock the blade in place when it is fully extended. The mechanism allows you to release the lock without placing your fingers directly in the path of the folding blade.
How do you clean a handle with a milled “Frag” pattern?
It’s best to clean the surface with a soft brush or a slightly damp cloth. Pay special attention to the recesses of the milled pattern, where fine dirt can accumulate.
How to maintain the ball bearings?
It’s a good idea to regularly clean the area around the blade axis to remove dust and fine debris. After cleaning, you can apply a small amount of a lubricant designed for knife mechanisms.
