KB Knives Decimal Blue Titanium Folding Knife, Satin M390 by Mark Perez (KB354C)

The KB Knives Decimal KB354C is a compact titanium folding knife designed by Mark Perez, combining a Böhler M390 steel blade with a blue anodized handle featuring fine Micro Line Milling. The Wharncliffe profile, Liner Lock, and ceramic ball bearings come together to form a modern EDC design with a technical, refined character.

The 80.00 mm blade features a flat grind and a Belt Satin finish. It opens manually using either the front flipper or the hole in the blade, offering two convenient one-handed opening options.

Böhler M390 and Vacuum-Cryogenic Heat Treatment

The blade is made of Böhler M390 steel, hardened to 60–62 HRC. Vacuum hardening combined with cryogenic treatment was used, which promotes high hardness, wear resistance, and stable steel properties during regular use.

Wharncliffe, flat grind, and Belt Satin

The Wharncliffe profile provides a long, functional cutting edge and good control during precision cutting. The flat grind facilitates smooth blade glide through the material, while the Belt Satin finish gives the blade a refined, satin-like appearance.

Blue Titanium, Liner Lock, and Ceramic Bearings

The handle is made of titanium and blue-anodized. The surface features fine Micro Line Milling milling, which emphasizes the technical character of the design and adds texture to the grip. The titanium backspacer and clip feature the same blue finish.

Ceramic ball bearings ensure smooth blade operation, while the Liner Lock stabilizes the blade when fully open. The clip is positioned on the right side in a tip-up configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I care for Böhler M390 steel?

It’s a good idea to clean the blade regularly and dry it thoroughly. M390 is highly corrosion-resistant, but proper care helps maintain its sharpness and surface appearance for longer.

How do you sharpen the KB Decimal?

High-performance abrasives, especially diamond ones, work well with M390 steel. It’s best to maintain the factory edge geometry and guide the sharpener evenly along the entire length of the blade.

How does the Liner Lock work?

The Liner Lock uses a spring-loaded liner component that, when the knife is opened, slides behind the blade and stabilizes the blade in the open position.

How do I care for the blue anodized handle?

It’s best to use a soft, slightly damp cloth for cleaning. Avoid harsh abrasives, which can alter the appearance of the anodized surface and the fine milling pattern.

How to maintain ceramic ball bearings?

It’s a good idea to regularly clean the area around the pivot of dust and fine debris. If necessary, you can use a small amount of a cleaner designed for knife mechanisms.
