The Microtech MSI RAM-LOK Mini 210M-1FLOR combines a black M390MK blade finish with a vibrant orange, fluted aluminum handle. The MSI Mini’s compact proportions preserve the distinctive RAM-LOK mechanism in a format more comfortable for everyday carry.
The 81.03 mm Wharncliffe blade features a flat grind and is opened manually using thumb studs. The fluted finish improves the aluminum’s grip, while the titanium backspacer and clip round out the sturdy construction.
M390MK – Steel for a Compact Folding Knife
M390MK is a variant of M390 steel developed for Microtech in collaboration with Böhler. Its high wear resistance helps maintain sharpness for a long time, and its corrosion resistance facilitates everyday use. Combined with the compact dimensions of the MSI Mini, this results in a design optimized for frequent use.
Wharncliffe and Black Finish
The Wharncliffe profile provides a well-controlled cutting edge and precise tip control. The flat grind maintains a versatile cutting geometry, while the black finish contrasts with the orange handle and gives the knife a distinctive look.
Orange Fluted Aluminum and RAM-LOK
The orange aluminum handle features a fluted finish, which improves hand contact with the surface and reduces the smooth feel of the aluminum. The RAM-LOK works on both sides, and the thumb studs allow for manual opening. The titanium clip can be mounted on either side of the handle in a tip-up configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the features of the M390MK?
The M390MK stands out for its high resistance to wear and corrosion. This makes it well-suited for a folding knife intended for regular use and long-lasting sharpness.
How do you sharpen a Wharncliffe profile?
For the M390MK, it’s best to use diamond abrasives or a guided sharpening system. The long, relatively straight edge of the Wharncliffe profile makes it easy to control the angle while sharpening.
Is the RAM-LOK convenient for left-handed users?
Yes, the RAM-LOK mechanism is accessible from both sides of the handle. The clip can also be swapped, making it easy to adapt the knife to your preferred hand.
What are the benefits of the Fluted finish?
Fluted creates a grooved, three-dimensional texture on the aluminum that improves grip. It also visually breaks up the large, flat surface of the Handle.
How do you care for the black blade finish?
Keep the blade clean and dry it thoroughly after contact with moisture. It’s best to use mild cleaning agents to avoid unnecessarily wearing down the surface finish.
