The Microtech Socom Elite Warcom Signature 259-10APODS is a full-size folder designed by Tony Marfione, featuring an M390MK steel blade and an OD Green aluminum handle. The Warcom variant is distinguished by its Wharncliffe profile. It features an Apocalyptic finish and black 3M Traction Tape inserts.
The 101.60 mm blade features a Wharncliffe profile, a hollow grind, and an Apocalyptic finish. The design incorporates a Liner Lock, ball bearings, and thumb studs on both sides, while the steel clip allows for tip-down carry.
M390MK – Steel Developed for Microtech
The blade is made of M390MK steel, a variant of M390 developed for Microtech in collaboration with Böhler. The material offers high resistance to wear and corrosion while maintaining performance characteristics suitable for a large utility folder.
Wharncliffe, hollow grind, and Apocalyptic
The Wharncliffe profile provides a long, relatively straight cutting edge and good control during utility cuts. The hollow grind supports efficient cutting, and the Apocalyptic finish gives the blade a distinctive, aged look.
OD Green Aluminum, 3M Traction Tape Inserts, and Liner Lock
The handle is made of OD Green aluminum and features black 3M Traction Tape Inserts that improve grip.
The pivot operates on ball bearings, and the Liner Lock locks the blade in place when open. The knife is opened manually using thumb studs on both sides, and the steel clip can be mounted on the right or left side in a tip-down configuration.

What makes M390MK steel unique?
M390MK is a variant of M390 developed for Microtech in collaboration with Böhler, offering high resistance to wear and corrosion.
How do you sharpen M390MK?
Diamond sharpening systems and guided sharpening systems work well for this, as they allow you to maintain a consistent angle with precision.
How does the Liner Lock work?
The Liner Lock uses a spring-loaded section of the steel liner to lock the blade in place once it is opened.
How do you maintain ball bearings?
The area around the pivot should be regularly cleaned of dust and fine debris, and a small amount of light lubricant should be applied as needed.
What sets the Wharncliffe profile apart in the Warcom model?
The Wharncliffe profile provides a long, relatively straight cutting edge, which facilitates controlled utility cuts and precise blade guidance.
