The Microtech Exocet II 1156-10 is a compact OTF folding knife featuring a Wharncliffe blade made of Böhler M390MK steel and a black aluminum handle. The stonewashed finish gives the blade a rugged, practical look, and the wide tip-down clip allows the knife to be used not only as an EDC but also as a money clip.
The blade is 60.33 mm long, has a flat grind, and is 2.24 mm thick. Thanks to its straight Wharncliffe edge, the model performs well in controlled cuts, while the Double Action mechanism allows you to quickly extend and retract the blade with a single slide.
Böhler M390MK – Durability and Long-Lasting Sharpness
Böhler M390MK offers high resistance to wear and corrosion, making it well-suited for a small everyday-carry knife. The material promotes long-lasting sharpness and withstands frequent exposure to moisture or changing conditions while being carried.
Wharncliffe and Stonewashed Finish
The Wharncliffe blade is distinguished by its long, straight edge and an easy-to-control tip. The flat grind ensures good cutting performance, and the stonewashed finish helps conceal minor scratches and signs of wear that occur during everyday use.
Black 6061-T6 Aluminum and Money Clip
The black handle is made of 6061-T6 aluminum. Its design also forms the rear section, which serves as a backspacer, keeping the body compact and cohesive. The distinctive wide tip-down clip can also function as a money clip.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the advantages of Böhler M390MK?
The steel offers high resistance to wear and corrosion. This makes it well-suited for a small OTF knife that is used regularly and often carried in a pocket.
How do you sharpen a Wharncliffe made of M390MK?
It’s best to use diamond abrasives or a guide system. The straight edge of the Wharncliffe profile makes it easier to maintain a consistent angle along the entire length.
How does the Double Action OTF work?
Sliding the slide in one direction extends the blade, while sliding it in the opposite direction automatically retracts it. The mechanism does not require manual blade retraction.
What are the benefits of a stonewashed finish?
Stonewashed minimizes the appearance of fine scratches and scuffs, making it well-suited for a utility EDC knife. It also gives the blade a subdued, technical look.
How does the money clip work?
The wide clip can hold the knife in your pocket, but it’s also designed to hold bills. This allows the Exocet II to combine two functions in one compact body.
