Demko Shark Cub Shark Foot Black GRN, Stonewashed AUS10A Folding Knife by Andrew Demko (SC-10A-GRNBLK-SS)
The Demko Shark Cub SC-10A-GRNBLK-SS is a more affordable version of the compact Shark Cub folder, retaining the distinctive Shark-Lock® lock and Andrew Demko’s design. The AUS10A steel blade, black GRN handle, and steel liners create a simple and durable configuration for everyday tasks.
The Shark Foot profile is 68.58 mm long with a flat grind, and the stonewashed finish helps mask minor signs of wear. The pivot is mounted on ball bearings, and the blade-hole opening mechanism combined with the ambidextrous deep-carry clip make this model a great fit for a small EDC folder.
AUS10A – Practical Steel for Everyday Use
AUS10A is a stainless utility steel that offers a good balance between corrosion resistance, edge retention, and relatively easy sharpening. In the budget-friendly Shark Cub version, it allows you to maintain the knife’s functionality without having to resort to more expensive powder steel.
Shark Foot, Flat, and stonewashed finish
The Shark Foot profile provides a strong tip and a straight edge line well-suited for opening packages, cutting tape, and other utility tasks. The flat grind supports smooth cutting, and the stonewashed finish effectively hides minor scratches and signs of everyday use.
GRN, steel liners, and Shark-Lock®
The handle is made of black GRN—glass-reinforced nylon—mounted on steel liners. The Shark-Lock® mechanism locks the blade in place, while Ball bearings ensure smooth pivot action; a steel, double-sided deep-carry clip makes it easy to carry the knife comfortably.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for AUS10A steel?
After use, it’s a good idea to clean and dry the blade, especially after contact with moisture or dirt. AUS10A has good corrosion resistance, but basic care helps keep the steel and the knife’s mechanics in good condition.
How do you sharpen AUS10A?
AUS10A responds well to water stones, ceramic stones, and guided sharpening systems. The steel is relatively easy to work with, allowing you to efficiently restore a sharp edge without using very aggressive abrasives.
What sharpening angle should be used?
The manufacturer does not specify a single mandatory sharpening angle for this variant. It is safest to maintain the factory edge geometry or adjust the angle according to how the knife is used.
How does Shark-Lock® work?
Shark-Lock® uses a control mechanism located on the back of the Handle that locks the blade in place once it is opened. This design allows for convenient operation of the lock and keeps your fingers away from the path of the folding blade.
How does the GRN version differ from the more expensive Shark Cub models?
The GRN variant features a glass-fiber-reinforced nylon handle and AUS10A steel, retaining the Shark Cub’s mechanics in a more economical configuration. It still offers Shark-Lock®, steel liners, ball bearings, and a double-sided deep-carry clip.
