AEB-L – Durable and Easy-to-Maintain Steel
AEB-L offers good corrosion resistance, favorable toughness, and easy sharpening. These properties make it well-suited for a compact fixed-blade knife intended for regular use as an EDC and for light outdoor applications.
Wharncliffe and flat grind
The Wharncliffe offers a straight cutting edge and a distinct tip, facilitating controlled incisions and precise cuts. The flat grind enhances versatile cutting performance and allows for good control over the blade.
Gray PVD coating with a stonewashed finish
The blade has been coated with a gray PVD coating and then given a stonewashed finish. This combination gives the surface a more rugged look and helps minimize the appearance of minor wear marks.
Gray-Black Vortex Micarta Handle
The handle is made of Vortex Pattern Micarta in a gray-black color scheme. The material provides good grip and a natural texture, while the Vortex pattern emphasizes the model’s modern character.
Kydex Sheath with Tek-Lok
The knife comes with a Kydex sheath that securely protects the blade during transport. The Tek-Lok attachment allows you to conveniently clip the entire unit to your belt and adjust the position to your preferred carrying style.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of combining PVD and stonewashed finishes?
The PVD coating creates an additional protective layer, while the stonewashed finish gives the surface a more worn-in look. Together, they help minimize the visibility of minor marks that develop during use.
How do you care for AEB-L steel?
After use, it’s a good idea to clean and dry the blade; for long-term storage, you can apply a thin layer of protective coating. AEB-L has good corrosion resistance, so it doesn’t require complicated maintenance.
Is the Wharncliffe suitable for EDC?
Yes. The straight edge and well-controlled tip work well for opening packages, scoring, and many precise everyday tasks.
Does the set include a sheath?
Yes. The Kizer MiCrow comes with a Kydex sheath designed for safe transport and quick access to the knife.
What is the Tek-Lok attachment used for?
Tek-Lok allows you to clip the sheath to your belt and carry the knife securely. It also lets you adjust the attachment position to your preferred carrying style.
