Microtech Amphibian Mini Ram-Lok S/E Marfione Select Knife Galactic Gold Slab Side Titanium, Blue Bksp, Stonewashed M390MK by Tony Marfione (137MRL-10MS15)

Microtech Amphibian Mini RAM-LOK S/E Marfione Select Galactic Gold Slab Titanium, Blue Bksp, Stonewashed M390MK by Tony Marfione – a titanium folding knife with RAM-LOK

The Microtech Amphibian Mini RAM-LOK 137MRL-10MS15 is a compact, premium-class folding knife featuring a titanium handle with a Galactic Gold finish, a blue backspacer, and an M390MK steel blade. The design incorporates the RAM-LOK locking mechanism, ball bearings, and thumb studs on both sides, making it fully manual and comfortable to operate from either side.

The Marfione Select variant stands out primarily for its unique color scheme and careful selection of materials. The golden hue of the titanium grips contrasts with the blue backspacer, while the stonewashed blade maintains a more utilitarian character. With an overall length of 196.09 mm, the model retains a handy size suitable for everyday carry.

M390MK – Steel with High Wear Resistance

The blade is made of M390MK steel, which combines high corrosion resistance, excellent edge retention, and high abrasion resistance. This combination of properties is well-suited for an EDC knife, which is designed to maintain a sharp edge for a long time. The blade is 82.55 mm long, combining practicality with compact dimensions.

Drop Point and Hollow Grind

The Drop Point profile provides good tip control and a wide range of practical applications. The Hollow grind reduces the amount of material behind the cutting edge, allowing the blade to maintain its cutting performance. This combination works well for everyday tasks that require precision and control over the blade’s movement.

Stonewashed – a practical blade finish

The blade’s surface features a stonewashed finish, which gives it a matte, utilitarian look. Minor signs of wear are less visible on this surface, and the blade’s neutral color scheme nicely balances the intense, decorative Galactic Gold finish on the handle.

Galactic Gold Slab Titanium

The handle is made of titanium and finished in Galactic Gold. The Slab version maintains a more uniform, clean surface on the grips, so the color and contrast with the blue backspacer are the main focal points. Titanium ensures high structural rigidity while maintaining resistance to corrosion and heavy use.

RAM-LOK and Ball bearings

RAM-LOK is a double-sided transverse lock that allows the blade to be released from either side of the handle. The pivot pin operates on ball bearings, which supports smooth blade movement during opening and closing. This design complements the model’s manual nature and ensures intuitive operation.

Manual opening and double-sided clip

The blade is opened manually using Thumb Studs. The ambidextrous thumb stud configuration works in conjunction with the RAM-LOK lock, making the knife comfortable to use with either the right or left hand. The titanium clip can be mounted on either side of the Handle in a tip-up configuration.

Why choose the Microtech Amphibian Mini RAM-LOK 137MRL-10MS15?

This is the perfect choice for users looking for a compact Microtech folding knife with a titanium construction and a distinctive finish. Galactic Gold, a blue backspacer, M390MK, RAM-LOK, and ball bearings come together to create a model that combines practicality with the more collector-oriented styling of the Marfione Select series.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Galactic Gold version stand out?

The most distinctive feature of this variant is the titanium handle with a Galactic Gold finish. The blue backspacer creates a striking contrast and highlights the Marfione Select design.

How does the RAM-LOK lock work?

RAM-LOK uses a transverse locking mechanism accessible from both sides of the handle. It allows you to conveniently release the blade with either your right or left hand.

What are the advantages of a hollow grind?

The hollow grind reduces the thickness of the blade behind the cutting edge, promoting good cutting performance. At the same time, it preserves the appropriate amount of material in the upper part of the blade.

Is the Amphibian Mini RAM-LOK an automatic knife?

No. It is a manually opened knife using thumb studs on both sides. The blade’s movement is supported by ball bearings.

Can the clip be repositioned?

Yes. The titanium clip can be mounted on the right or left side of the Handle in a tip-up configuration.
