The Hatsan MOD 85 is a single-shot, break-barrel spring-powered air rifle in 4.5 mm (.177) calibre, designed for recreational and target shooting.
The air rifle combines a Hatsan rifled barrel, a synthetic stock and an adjustable Quattro Trigger unit. The SAS system, TRIOPAD® butt pad and Anti Bear-Trap Safety improve comfort and handling safety.
The MOD 85 is a classic spring-powered air rifle in which the spring is cocked by breaking the barrel. The air rifle is single-shot, so after each shot the pellet is inserted directly into the barrel bore. This design requires no magazine and ensures simple, easy-to-master operation. The Anti Bear-Trap Safety prevents premature release of the spring during cocking.
The steel Hatsan barrel has a rifled bore that imparts spin to the pellet and stabilises it in flight. This helps achieve consistent hits when shooting at targets. The SAS Shock Absorber System reduces vibrations generated by the spring mechanism. Reducing vibration improves shooting comfort and limits its effect on the fitted scope.
The synthetic stock features a contoured Monte Carlo cheek piece and a raised fore-end. Grooving on the pistol grip and the front section of the fore-end makes it easier to maintain stable control of the air rifle. The TRIOPAD® butt pad absorbs recoil energy, while the three included spacers allow the buttstock length to be adjusted. The stock is designed for use by both right- and left-handed shooters.
The air rifle has TruGlo open sights with a red front sight and a green rear sight. The rear sight can be precisely adjusted for elevation and windage, allowing the point of aim to be set. The cylinder is fitted with a grooved 11 mm mounting rail designed for installing a scope. The fitted stop limits movement of the mount under vibration and recoil.
Quattro Trigger is a two-stage, adjustable trigger unit with a metal trigger blade. The adjustment allows the trigger characteristics to be tailored to the shooter's preferences. The air rifle has a manual safety and an automatic safety activated during cocking. These features reduce the risk of an unintended shot while handling the air rifle.
* The maximum values above, as stated by the manufacturer, apply only to air rifles without an energy limit.
** Muzzle velocity may vary by as much as 20% depending on pellet weight and shape, temperature and other environmental factors.
