8Cr13MoV - an easy-to-sharpen stainless knife steel, equivalent to Japanese AUS-8 steel. A high content of 13.0% chromium (Cr) and an average of 0.8% carbon (C) provide excellent corrosion resistance, while the addition of the alloying elements molybdenum 0.30% (Mo), vanadium 0.25% (V) and nickel 0.20% (Ni) increase the steel's strength and wear resistance. 8Cr13MoV has a high hardness in the 57-62 HRC range.
Blade - with the company's Leaf-Shaped profile (leaf shape), finished with an elegant satin finish. The partially serrated blade is derived with a Full Flat Grind. The enlarged 14mm round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) makes it easy to open the folder with cold or wet hands. The notched section of the Blade's back, ramp (spine jimping) gives solid support for the thumb which makes it easier to operate the knife. The entire blade is locked with the proven Liner Lock.
SpyderEdge - (Spyderco patent) serrated blade usually has a few millimeters of smooth blade on the tip side. The Spyder blade consists of alternating one large and two small teeth, the so-called two-step. This pattern increases the length of the cutting edge by up to 24% compared to a straight blade. Ideal for cutting, inflicting deep wounds, cutting through hard materials including bone.
Frame - made of stainless steel, openwork for stress relief, which provides exceptional structural strength, while forming the basis of the Blade's Michael Walker Liner Lock mechanism with notched liner. The whole was bolted together with torx screws for easy unfolding and folding of the folder.
Handle - made of G10 composite, practically indestructible plastic insensitive to weather conditions, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage, beveled edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges. Open-backed design fixed with steel spacer sleeves reduces weight and facilitates cleaning. Metal clip with four-way (up/down, right/left) 4-way clip positions. In the back of the Handle, a hole (lanyard hole) for attaching a safety line.
