WE Knife Big Banter Black G10, Black Stonewashed CPM 20CV by Ben Petersen (WE21045-1)

Big Banter Black G10, Black Stonewashed, an enlarged version of the excellent EDC Banter folder, a design by traveler and knifemaker Ben Petersen. Spending most of his time away from home, Ben shows an interest in lightweight, compact folders that don't weigh down his pockets, ideal for everyday carry.

Ben Petersen came into contact with the knife industry in 2011, supplementing his college education with a casual job making YouTube videos. The vortex of the knife world drew him in and he spent the next eight years working full-time in the industry at a knife retailer and manufacturer. He dealt with thousands of knives, recording more than 1,000 knife videos and producing knife marketing content for the entire industry. During his travels, Ben developed a particular preference for knives, such as blades under 3 inches and a fondness for blue Handle grips in simple designs. After years of advertising other people's knives, Ben created his first EC design called "Banter." It is a thoughtful combination of all the features Ben loves in knives. When he's not working on knives, Ben spends most of his time backpacking, biking and exploring his home state of Utah with his wife and four children. And like him, they all like knives, too.

CPM 20CV - one of the best tool steels, American premium martensitic stainless steel. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Designed to provide better wear resistance while maintaining corrosion resistance at the highest level. This super steel is comparable to Bohler's M390 steel or Carpenter's CTS-204P. According to some knife manufacturers, 20CV is the best of these three steels in terms of edge retention. It consists of 1.9% carbon (C), 20.0% chromium (Cr), 4.0% vanadium (V), 1.0% molybdenum (Mo) and 0.6% tungsten (W). The high percentage of chromium with a touch of molybdenum makes 20CV one of the best high-end corrosion-resistant steels.

Blade - Drop Point with clearly marked belly is finished with Black Stonewashed masking minor scratches from use. The small thickness of the blade combined with a high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings in the basket support the smooth and smooth operation of the blade's ejection mechanism, which can be opened with the thumb using Thumb Studs on both sides. Liner-Lock mechanism. Upper jumping, notched thumb rest on the back of the blade for better control.

Handle - facings made of black G10 (fiberglass compressed with synthetic resin). The open-backed design, so called, fastened to each other with steel spacer sleeves, reduces weight and facilitates cleaning. The pivot axis is decorated with a stylized WE brand logo. A right-handed, single-position metal deep-carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up (blade up) position. On the back of the handle lanyard hole, a hole for a cord.

Case - the knife is packed in a zippered soft nylon case with the manufacturer's logo for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
