Dobermann IV Africa is a professional knife by Extrema Ratio and a special, more classic version of the Dobermann IV model. It is a large fixed-blade knife designed for hunting, bushcraft, survival, outdoor use, and demanding field tasks. The main difference compared with the standard Dobermann IV is the extended accessory set and two interchangeable handles: one made of Santos Rosewood and the other made of Forprene. The set also includes an Italian-made leather sheath, a sharpener, and an steel wedge.
N690 - corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C), martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V) and cobalt 1.50% (Co) for structural uniformity. Features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. It achieves a hardness of 57-60 HRC. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - massive, 6.3 mm thick, with a long false edge on the spine. The Drop Point blade features a Recurve cutting edge, which improves cutting performance and works well in outdoor, survival, hunting, and tactical knives. The blade is finished with an elegant Satin finish. The smooth Plain cutting edge is ground with a high Flat Grind, providing good cutting efficiency. The part of the blade extending beyond the outline of the handle acts as a guard, reducing the risk of the hand slipping toward the edge during use.
Handle - the set includes two interchangeable handles. The first, classic version is made from exotic Palisander Santos / Santos Rosewood, distinguished by its unique grain pattern. The second handle is made from Forprene thermoplastic elastomer. It is intended for more intensive outdoor tasks that wood may not withstand due to its natural structure, for example during bushcraft and survival use, batoning, or chopping. A textured thumb ramp on the spine of the handle improves grip stability. At the rear, there is a Lanyard Hole, allowing a lanyard or safety cord to be attached.
Sheath - handmade from high-quality Italian leather and finished in a classic style. It features a practical pocket for a field sharpener and a side holder for an steel wedge or fire starter.
