CPM S35VN - American martensitic high-alloy stainless steel with a hardness of 59-61 HRC, one of the best blade steels. Designed to provide better strength compared to CPM S30V, while keeping corrosion resistance at the highest level. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it is composed of 0.5% niobium carbides (Nb) along with 3.0% vanadium (V) and 14.0% chromium (Cr) carbides. Replacing some of the niobium carbides with vanadium carbides makes the steel about 15-20% harder than S30V without sacrificing wear resistance, and it is also easier to machine and polish. The improved strength of CPM S35VN also provides better resistance to edge chipping.
Blade - more than ten-centimeter blade of cleaver (chopper) type finished with a scratch-masking Silver Bead Blasted finish. It opens with a flipper flipper when opened acting as a stag or thumb slot, so it can be easily used by right and left-handed people. Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth operation of the opening mechanism. The small thickness of the blade, combined with a high, flat grind, gives us cutting properties almost on the level of a razor. On the back you will find a perfectly made "jimping", notches on which we can put our finger thus improving the grip and control of the knife during use. The whole thing is locked with a proven and popular frame lock with a steel insert that prevents wiping of the lock face.
Handle - is thick pieces of titanium 6AL4V, beautifully milled in geometric patterns. Only a few companies are able to make the Handle with such incredible accuracy! Joined together using a titanium backspacer. The simplicity and solidity of the construction give the assurance of many years of use. The single-position clip (right), made of titanium, allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position. As in other models, the pivot axis is decorated with a stylized logo of the manufacturer.
Case - included zippered soft nylon case with the manufacturer's logo for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
