Troodon OTF Line - Troodon means "wounding tooth" in Greek. Although the name was first given to a Raptor-like dinosaur, the name is equally appropriate for Microtech's OTF knife, designed for all sorts of uses and close combat. The over-the-top, double-action (D/A) automatic knife is a favorite OTF among law enforcement officers, US armed forces and emergency services personnel. Its rugged construction makes the Combat Troodon® suitable for heavy use, and the advantages of the Out The Front automatic also make it an excellent knife for everyday carry.
Blade - machine ground D/E (Double Edge Dagger) type, sharpened on both sides with one edge F/S (Full Serrated) and the other Plain. Coated with a black protective coating. The blade is brought out with a high flat grind (Flat Grind), providing excellent cutting properties. As a result, the knife has excellent piercing properties while maintaining its strength. The centrally placed grain further strengthens the blade. The strong mechanism of extending/retracting the blade with the help of the moled Thumb Slide, a stepped thumb slide, requires for safety the application of a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring. The method of opening provides seamless opening for both right and left-handed people.
Handle - made with excellent precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines, from black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum. The surface texture of the Handle and the deep notches (jimping) on it make the knife non-slip in the hand during use. The slim profile and the milled two-position (right/left) solid deep-carry clip allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket, in tip-down (blade tip down) position. The clip bears the Microtech logo, serial number and production date. The Handle is finished with a glass breaker, a solid steel triangle, into which a tungsten carbide ball has been pressed. It also features a hole for interweaving a decorative cord.
