Katla LE No 080/150 Red G10, Dark Stonewashed limited to 150 pieces edition of an excellent folding knife. A knife that is the result of a combination of excellent materials and masterful design. It is the work of Jesper Voxnaes and Jens Anso, well-known Danish knife designers whose works always stand out in terms of ergonomics and style. This particular model is unique in many ways. Handle grips are made of G10 composite milled with a 3D pattern, the blade, made of high-quality Böhler M390 steel, hardened to a hardness of 59-61HRC, which provides excellent cutting properties. The blade can be opened in two different ways. A deep clip makes it easy to carry and ensures safety. All this makes this knife an ideal choice for people who appreciate both style and functionality. All this makes this knife not only a practical tool, but also an elegant accessory that will enhance the individual style of each user. Whether you are a knife collector or simply appreciate high quality and functionality, this knife is sure to meet your expectations.
Jesper Voxnaes began creating knives in 1989, when he was just 18 years old, forging each blade completely on his own. His unique style stems from the meeting of his roots in world-renowned Scandinavian design with his passion for American knifemaking. This original approach quickly made his knives very popular, especially in the US, so much so that he was able to expand his business with machines he made himself. Since then, he has been a professional knifemaker and has worked as a designer with many top knife companies, achieving great success in many different fields.
Jens Anso, a Danish industrial designer and knife maker, began his career in 1988. Founder of ANSØ of DENMARK in 2001, he is known for the flowing lines, harmony and perfection of his creations. His knives, both fixed and folding, reflect extraordinary attention to detail and soft shapes. He has worked with companies such as Spyderco, Böker and Fox Knives, and his designs have lived to see mass production. Anso is also recognized for his use of exclusive materials and innovative approach to design
M390 Microclean® - a martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of "wire" during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) doped with 1.9% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), hardened between 59-61 HRC, vacuum and cryogenic treatment and double tempering. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - a modified Tanto with a clearly marked blade belly, finished masking minor scratches with a bath of Stonewashed pebbles and then covered with a dark coating. The small thickness of the blade, combined with a high flat grind (Flat Grind), results in excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ball bearings support the smooth operation of the Blade's opening mechanism, which can be opened with either a dual thumb stud in the blade (dual thumb studs) or with a quick flipper flipper (index-finger flipper). When opened, the flipper forms a mini-guard to prevent the hand from slipping on the blade. Liner lock mechanism.
Handle - grips made of G10 composite, a virtually indestructible plastic that is insensitive to weather, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage. Artfully milled with a 3D pattern at the beginning and end of the Handle, joined together by a CNC-milled backspacer, so the knife retains the desired structural rigidity. The backspacer and the decorative ring around the pivot, the so-called pivot collar, are made of phosphor bronze (phosphor bronze). The fore finger groove, made on the front, improves grip security, while at the same time forming a guard with the flipper to prevent the hand from slipping on the blade. A right-handed, single-position titanium deep-carry clip allows the knife to be carried discreetly in the tip-up (tip up) position. At the end of the Handle lanyard hole, a hole for a cord.
