Ostap Hel - a talented Polish knifemaker and designer. His designs are based on the fundamentals of geometry, smooth transitions and the concept of “golden ratio”. He is not afraid to experiment with new shapes and ideas to suit the unique style and production capabilities of the company he designs for.
14C28N - a martensitic chromium stainless steel - is the latest development in a range of knife steels produced by Sandvik's Swedish mills . An optimized chemical composition with a unique combination provides superior quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness and corrosion resistance. By reducing the amount of carbon 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding nitrogen 0.11% (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly improved. Considered an improved version of 13C26 steel. Unbeatable in the price/quality category!
Double Detent Slip-Joint - “no lock” non-locking mechanism used in folders in which the wedge is held in the open position by spring pressure on the flat section at the back of the blade shank during use. TheSlip Joint holds the blade in both the folded and unfolded positions. When folded, it generates a smooth resistance as in a knife equipped with a traditional locking mechanism. To avoid accidental opening during handling, the blade is held in the closed position by two Double Detent steel balls , one on each side of the blade.
Blade - hawkbill type with an aggressive shape, finished with a scratch-masking bath of fine Stonewashed pebbles , and then coated in black. The small thickness of the blade, combined with a high, flat grind (Flat Grind), gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ball bearing ceramic supports the smooth operation of the blade's opening mechanism, which can be opened with a quick front flipper (index-finger front flipper). When opened, the flipper forms an additional lever that locks the Blade. On the back of the upper jimping wedge and flipper,, a notched thumb rest. When opened, the wedge protrudes like a predatory claw!
Handle - is two pieces of composite G10, virtually indestructible plastic, insensitive to weather, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage. The form of the ring allows you to reposition your finger, so we do not have to put the knife down while working. Chamfered edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges for comfortable grip. The backspacer to which the grips are attached guarantees the rigidity and strength of the entire structure. A two-position (right/left) wire clip allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position , with the tip of the blade upward.
Case - included zippered soft nylon case with the manufacturer's logo for safe storage and transportation of the folder.
