CPM MagnaCut powdered stainless steel manufactured using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened to 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more “conventional” steels. Ball Bearing-Lock, one of the strongest blade locking mechanisms. Hardened ball bearing housed in a black polymer basket in the open position pressed against the blade by a spring. Made in USA.
Blade - with Leaf-Shaped profile, finished with elegant satin finish. Plain blade was derived with Full Flat Grind. The flat grind provides excellent cutting edge geometry with a sharp tip. The enlarged 14mm round SpyderHole cutout (Spyderco patent) allows the knife to be opened even with a glove. The pronounced Finger Choil - an arched undercut for the index finger and a notched thumb ramp on the Blade's back increase the knife's control.
Handle - in bright yellow, characteristic of the SALT line. Non-slipbi-directional textured covers (Bi-Directional Texturing) strengthen the grip even with wet hands. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a fiberglass-reinforced nylon plastic. The covers are attached to the spacer / connector of the Handle grips (backspacer), which provides strength and rigidity to the whole structure. Metal wire clip (steel wire clip) with two-position (right/left) attachment. In the backspacer of the Handle a hole (lanyard hole) for a safety or decorative cord.
