Demko Shark Cub Slicer Shark Knife Black GRN, Stonewashed AUS10A by Andrew Demko (SC-10A-GRNBLK-SS)
- Shark Cub Slicer Shark Black GRN, Stonewashed AUS10A smaller version of the AD20.5 folder, designed for heavy duty work. Designed by Cold Steel's long-time designer Andrew Demko. Its Shark-Lock™ is considered the strongest in the world!

This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
Shark Cub Slicer Shark Black GRN, Stonewashed AUS10A, the result of many years of work and experience of Andrew Demko, a long-time designer at Cold Steel. A smaller version of the AD20.5 folding knife. Designed for the toughest jobs, despite its size, it is a real tool, characterized not only by its robustness and power, but also by its unique design. Ergonomic handle made of GRN (Glass Reinforced Nylon) composite and blade made of AUS10A steel, which is corrosion-resistant and easy to sharpen. One of the most important elements of the knife is its lock. Shark-Lock™ is an innovative mechanism that is considered one of the strongest in the world. Thanks to it, the knife is not only safe to use, but also ensures that it will cope with even the most difficult tasks. It is a unique example of a compact EDC (Every Day Carry) knife, an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable everyday tool.
Andrew Demko, owner and founder of Demko Knives, first began forging chisels in 1988, when he was in seventh grade. He immediately realized that this was his passion and started forging knives almost immediately. Like many blacksmiths, Andrew began his journey in a garage, grinding the shapes of blades and sharpening them on a small grinder. Andrew's passion for engineering and attention to detail were noticed by the well-known company Cold Steel. At Cold Steel, Andrew developed some of the most innovative and strongest locking mechanisms in the industry. The legendary Tri-Ad Lock, Scorpion Lock, and recently the dream of one-handed operators - Shark-Lock.
AUS-10A - Japanese stainless steel, often compared to 440C series steel and for good reason, because the compositions are similar, but these slight differences make AUS-10A harder (hardened usually around 60 HRC) and dulls more slowly, without losing its resistance to rust. Knives made of this steel are relatively cheap and will be a great choice if your budget is not too high and you want the knife to be rust-proof.
The Shark-Lock™ mechanism on the back of the knife is operated by a ramp-like “fin”. When the blade is opened, the spring-loaded locking arm moves upwards and then into the notch in the shaft, placing it under the locking pin. What is unique is that the locking mechanism moves back and forth while also moving up and down. This allows for an increase in the size of the surface in contact with the blade, ensuring better mechanical strength in a specific area. And because the drive spring, which moves the locking element up to the locked position, is located in the locking arm itself, it will not be exposed to dirt and debris.
Blade - Spear Point type, finished with a Stonewashed coating to hide scratches caused by use. The belly extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the slender blade, converging towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade ensures high durability, while the high, flat grind gives the cutting edge perfect geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ball bearings assist in opening the blade with a dual thumb stud. The whole is locked with the Shark-Lock™, considered to be the world's strongest locking mechanism.
Handle grips made of GRN composite (Glass Reinforced Nylon), a light and durable material that is resistant to weather, chemicals and mechanical damage. The beveled edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges and the characteristic surface texture improves grip. The two-position (right/left) clip allows the knife to be carried in a tip-up position, with the tip of the blade facing up.
