S600 - a type of steel you don't often see! High-speed steel with a high molybdenum and tungsten content and good vanadium content, ensuring excellent hardness, wear resistance and strength. The presence of cobalt promotes the formation of small, evenly distributed carbides that increase wear resistance. S600 is hardened and cryogenically treated to achieve an exceptional hardness of 64 HRC. This provides high wear resistance and good edge retention. Manufactured in the Austrian steel mill Böhler-Uddeholm.
