Talon - sets new standards in expandable baton technology. A classic baton with the Friction Loc system is opened with a forceful wrist movement. The Talon baton can be deployed in two ways: traditionally, with a swing, or discreetly by pulling the tip of the baton. The second method is especially useful in situations where discretion is important, as deployment takes place without the characteristic noise. It is also useful when conditions do not allow for a full swing, for example in a crowd or in confined spaces. The Talon baton can be closed with one hand. Simply release the Disc Loc mechanism by pressing the Button Release located at the end of the handle, then rest the tip of the baton against a stable surface and collapse it.
Black Chrome - a very hard coating with high abrasion resistance, applied to steel in a process similar to electroplating. The Black Chrome finish provides a deep black color, does not flake or chip, and increases the corrosion protection of the steel components.
Aluminum and Steel – in Airweight models, the baton’s middle shaft is made from a seamless tube of 7075-T6 aluminum alloy manufactured specifically for ASP. Also used in the production of M16 rifle receivers, this material combines low weight with high mechanical strength. It has a hardness of 87 HRB, a tensile strength of 83,000 PSI, and a yield strength of 73,000 PSI. The 7075-T6 alloy is commonly used in applications where low weight and high mechanical resistance are essential. Reducing the baton’s weight results in a loss of only approximately 2% of its striking potential, while also decreasing inertia and allowing faster follow-up strikes.
The remaining baton shafts are made from seamless, cold-drawn tubes of AISI/SAE 4140 chromium-molybdenum alloy steel. The material is hardened to more than 49 HRC, providing high resistance to deformation, bending, and impact during intensive use. The steel has a tensile strength of 150,000 PSI and a yield strength of 120,000 PSI. The combination of aluminum and steel creates a lightweight, durable, and effective baton while retaining the functionality of models made entirely from steel.
Handle - Vector Grip, an injection-molded handle with an aggressive surface texture. The textured profile increases hand traction and provides confident control of the baton during use.
