14C28N - martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest achievement in the range of knife steels produced by the Swedish steelworks Sandvik. An optimized chemical composition with a unique combination ensures the highest quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness, and corrosion resistance. By reducing the carbon content to 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content to 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding nitrogen at 0.11% (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly enhanced. Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process comprising two key stages. During Vacuum Heat Treatment, the steel is hardened in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the steel’s strength and structural integrity. Cryogenic Treatment: After heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation converts residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance, and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N steel delivers exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and remarkable blade durability.

Blade - featuring a modern tanto profile, finished with a Dark Oxide Beadblasted finish that masks minor scratches. The curved cutting edge tapers toward the tip of the blade. The blade thickness, combined with a high, flat grind, provides excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings ensure smooth and seamless operation of the mechanism and assist in opening the blade using the index-finger flipper after opening the crossguard. Handle - grips made of G10 composite, a material that is extremely mechanically durable and virtually completely resistant to weather conditions and chemicals, textured to improve grip, screwed to the steel knife frame.
