LUDT Line - the Microtech L.U.D.T. (Large Underwater Demolition Team) line takes its name from the Navy SEALs Underwater Demolition Team, or UDT for short. It was the first knife created by Microtech when the company began operations in 1994. A knife bearing this name must embody professionalism, and the Microtech LUDT series absolutely does. M390MK - thanks to the collaboration between engineers from Microtech and Böhler, an exclusive version of M390 steel was created exclusively for Microtech. The carbon content was increased and subjected to more precise control, thereby improving the properties of M390 steel to ensure better edge retention, corrosion resistance, and polishability. A martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced using powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy composition, it features exceptionally high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Thanks to its high wear resistance, it maintains edge shape effectively, allowing the blade to stay sharp for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). Another advantage is its resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr), alloyed with 1.95% carbon (C) and 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to a range of 59–61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter’s CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.

DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) The blade’s surface durability is enhanced by a black, matte nanocomposite coating that exhibits unique properties such as exceptional hardness and low friction, as well as excellent corrosion resistance. It is one of the most scratch- and wear-resistant coatings used in industry, including the cutlery industry.

Blade - machine-ground T/E (Tanto Edge) type, single-beveled with a long line of reinforcing grooves on both sides of the edge for strength. The durability of the blade surface has been enhanced with a non-reflective, matte DLC nanocomposite coating, which exhibits unique properties: exceptional hardness, low friction, and excellent corrosion resistance. A pronounced spine extends the length of the cutting edge relative to the blade length, tapering toward a needle-sharp tip. The substantial blade thickness and long fuller, combined with a high flat grind (Flat Grind), provide excellent cutting performance coupled with high durability. Ceramic ball bearings assist in opening the blade via a button, which is recessed for safety. To maintain full control over the blade, the blade spine features upper jimping, a serrated thumb rest. The entire unit is secured with a proven and popular button lock.

Handle - crafted with exceptional precision using 3D technology on CNC milling machines, from polished and brushed 6061-T6 aluminum. Perfectly fitted Carbon Fiber composite inlays ensure the knife does not slip in the hand during use. A solid backspacer to which the scales are attached guarantees the rigidity and durability of the entire construction. The handle features jimping for a more secure grip. The ergonomic profile and a single-position (right-side) solid clip featuring Anthony Marfione’s signature allow for discreet carrying of the knife in a pocket in the tip-down position (blade tip pointing down). A lanyard hole is located at the rear, providing a spot for a safety or decorative lanyard.
