CPM 20CV – one of the best tool steels, a premium-grade American martensitic stainless steel. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. The CPM process creates a highly homogeneous, high-quality steel characterized by excellent dimensional stability, grindability, and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Designed to provide better wear resistance while maintaining corrosion resistance at the highest level. This super steel is comparable to Bohler’s M390 or Carpenter’s CTS-204P. According to some knife manufacturers, 20CV is the best of these three steels in terms of edge retention. It consists of 1.9% carbon (C), 20.0% chromium (Cr), 4.0% vanadium (V), 1.0% molybdenum (Mo), and 0.6% tungsten (W). The high percentage of chromium with a touch of molybdenum makes 20CV one of the best high-end corrosion-resistant steels.

Blade - Wharncliffe-Tanto style (a mix of Wharncliffe and Tanto), with a striking two-tone finish. The blade features a Black Stonewashed finish that masks scratches, while the area around the thumb hole and the rest of the blade are satin-finished. The wide blade tapers toward a needle-sharp tip. A mixed grind is used here; the rear section features a high, concave grind for cutting and precision work, known as Hollow Ground Primary Bevel. The front section features a high, flat grind reinforcing the tip, known as Flat Ground. To improve piercing capabilities, an unsharpened false edge has been added to the upper part. Ceramic ball bearings assist in opening the blade in two ways: via the thumb hole in the blade (Thumb Hole) or the quick flipper tab. Once opened, the flipper forms a mini-guard that prevents the hand from slipping onto the blade. The entire unit is secured by a modern Frame Lock mechanism with a steel insert that prevents the lock face from wearing down.

Handle - made of 6AL4V titanium with a black coating; the beveled edges of the scales eliminate sharp edges. The entire assembly is bolted to a solid backspacer, also made of titanium. The pivot shaft is adorned with the stylized WE Knife logo. A forefinger groove improves grip security. A single-position (right-side) titanium deep carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in the tip-up position (blade tip facing up).

Case - included is a zippered soft nylon pouch with the manufacturer’s logo for safe storage and transport of the folder.
