Microtech LUDT Gen III T/E Signature Black-Orange Topographic Camo Smooth Aluminum, Black-Orange Topographic Camo Böhler M390MK by Tony Marfione (1136S-1TPBKORCS) is a premium automatic folding knife from the Signature Series. It features a T/E Tanto blade, Böhler M390MK steel, a Smooth aluminum handle, and a black-and-orange Topographic Camo finish covering both the blade and the frame.
The push-button automatic opening mechanism allows you to quickly deploy the blade with one hand. Ball bearings ensure smooth operation of the mechanism, and the Button Lock keeps the blade securely in the open position. The tip-up clip allows for convenient carrying of the knife in your right pocket.
Böhler M390MK – powder steel with high edge retention
The blade is made of Böhler M390MK steel with a hardness of 61–62 HRC. The material is characterized by high wear resistance, good corrosion resistance, and long-lasting sharpness. It performs well when regularly cutting cardboard, ropes, straps, plastics, and other everyday materials.
T/E Tanto, Flat, and Black-Orange Topographic Camo
The T/E Tanto profile features a distinctly defined tip and a curved cutting edge, which supports precise blade control and tasks requiring a strong tip. The Flat grind provides good cutting performance, while the Black-Orange Topographic Camo Cerakote finish gives the blade a distinctive, high-contrast look.
Smooth Aluminum and Gen III Mechanism
The handle is made of 6061-T6 aluminum and features the Smooth finish. The Black-Orange Topographic Camo pattern is part of the surface finish, not a milled or deeply engraved texture. The design is complemented by Torx screws, a black aluminum backspacer, and a stainless steel tip-up clip.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for and sharpen Böhler M390MK steel?
After use, clean the blade and dry it thoroughly. For sharpening, it is best to use diamond stones, CBN systems, or precision guide systems.
How does the LUDT Gen III automatic opening mechanism work?
Pressing the button releases the spring mechanism, which automatically opens the blade. Once open, the blade is held in place by the Button Lock.
Is the Topographic Camo pattern milled?
No. In this variant, the handle has a smooth surface, and the Black-Orange Topographic Camo pattern is part of the Cerakote finish. It is neither milled nor deeply engraved.
What does “tip-up clip” mean?
“Tip-up” means that when the knife is closed, the tip of the blade points upward. The clip is designed for right-side carry.
Is the LUDT Gen III water-resistant?
The design offers enhanced resistance to moisture and splashes, but it should not be considered completely waterproof. After contact with water, it is advisable to dry the knife and inspect the mechanism.
