The Microtech M-Stitch Ram-Lok S/E Orange Frag Aluminum, Apocalyptic M390MK folding knife by Borka Blades and Tony Marfione (169MRL-10APFROR) is a compact folding knife featuring a Wharncliffe blade made of Böhler M390MK steel, an orange aluminum handle with a Frag texture, and a RAM-LOK® lock. The Apocalyptic variant stands out with a more rugged, utilitarian blade finish.
Manual opening is achieved via a thumb hole, and ball bearings ensure smooth operation of the mechanism. The iconic X Button provides convenient operation of the RAM-LOK® system, standard Torx screws facilitate service access, and the reversible deep-carry clip allows the knife to be carried tip-up on either side.
Böhler M390MK and Flat Grind
The blade is made of Böhler M390MK steel, which combines high corrosion resistance with good edge retention. The Flat grind provides functional geometry for precise and controlled cutting.
Wharncliffe and Apocalyptic Finish
The Wharncliffe profile features a distinct tip and a long, smooth Plain Edge. The Apocalyptic finish gives the blade a raw, irregular look and emphasizes the model’s utilitarian character.
Orange Frag Aluminum and Iconic X Button
The handle is made of aluminum with a milled Frag pattern. The regular texture improves grip and control, while the bright orange color increases the knife’s visibility. RAM-LOK® and the Iconic X Button complete Microtech’s signature design.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for Böhler M390MK steel?
After use, clean the blade and dry it thoroughly. For long-term storage, you can apply a small amount of preservative.
How do I sharpen a Wharncliffe blade?
Sharpen the edge at a consistent angle and with even pressure. Near the tip, it’s best to reduce the pressure to preserve its characteristic profile.
How does RAM-LOK® work?
RAM-LOK® stabilizes the blade using a transverse locking element. The Iconic X Button allows for convenient operation of the mechanism from both sides of the handle.
How do you clean the Frag pattern?
The milled recesses are best cleaned with a soft brush. For heavier dirt, you can use a slightly damp cloth, then dry the handle thoroughly.
How do you maintain the ball bearings?
Keep the area around the pivot clean and periodically apply a small amount of light lubricant designed for folding knives.
