The Microtech Ultratech Gen IV 11224-1MPOD-T10S21 is an OTF automatic knife featuring a double-edged Dagger blade made of Böhler M390MK steel. The 6061-T6 aluminum frame and blade are finished in Magpul OD Green Bazooka, featuring the distinctive olive green color associated with Magpul.
The Double Action OTF mechanism allows the blade to be automatically extended and retracted using a slide. Generation IV features the Dual-Fuel Drive Train system and the Crud Kutter solution, which support smooth operation of the mechanism and minimize the impact of fine debris.
Böhler M390MK – steel developed for Microtech
The blade is made of Böhler M390MK steel, a special grade of M390 developed for Microtech in collaboration with Böhler. The material offers high resistance to corrosion and wear, as well as excellent edge retention.
Dagger, flat grind, and Magpul OD Green Bazooka finish
The double-edged Dagger profile features symmetrical geometry and a centrally located tip. The flat grind ensures smooth cutting through material, while the olive-green Magpul OD Green Bazooka finish echoes the distinctive color scheme used by Magpul.
6061-T6 Aluminum and Gen IV OTF Mechanism
The handle is made of 6061-T6 aluminum with a Magpul OD Green Bazooka finish. The 127.0 mm-long body features a closed OTF design and does not use a separate backspacer.
The blade extends and retracts automatically via a slider. The Dual-Fuel Drive Train powers the Gen IV mechanism, while the Crud Kutter helps reduce friction and the effects of debris in the control area. The design is complemented by a titanium clip and a steel glass breaker.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for Böhler M390MK steel?
After use, it’s a good idea to clean the blade and dry it thoroughly. M390MK has high corrosion resistance, but regular care helps keep the surface and edges in good condition.
How do you sharpen a Dagger double-edged blade?
Both edges should be sharpened symmetrically, maintaining the factory geometry. A good starting point is approximately 15–20° per side, using abrasives suitable for high-wear-resistant steel.
How does the Double Action OTF mechanism work?
Pushing the slide forward automatically extends the blade, while pulling it back automatically retracts the blade into the Handle. Both actions are performed by the same drive mechanism.
What makes the Magpul OD Green Bazooka color stand out?
It’s an olive green finish that references Magpul’s signature color scheme. In this model, it’s applied to both the blade and the aluminum body.
How do you maintain the Ultratech Gen IV mechanism?
The interior of the mechanism should be protected from excessive sand, dust, and other fine debris. Regular cleaning and the use of products suitable for OTF mechanisms help maintain smooth slider operation.
