The Kubey Carve KU237B is an EDC folding knife featuring a Sandvik 14C28N blade, a green G10 handle, and a Crossbar Lock. The design, based on phosphor bronze washers and thumb studs on both sides, offers simple, practical operation and good control during everyday use.
The 83.00 mm blade features a Tanto profile, a flat grind, and a matte bead-blasted finish. The knife is opened manually using thumb studs on both sides, and once fully extended, the blade is secured by the Crossbar Lock.
Sandvik 14C28N and Vacuum-Cryogenic Heat Treatment
The blade is made of Sandvik 14C28N steel, hardened to 60–62 HRC. Vacuum hardening combined with cryogenic treatment was used, which promotes high hardness, wear resistance, and stable steel performance during regular use.
Tanto, flat grind, and bead blasted
The Tanto profile provides a distinctly defined front section of the blade and good control over the tip. The flat grind facilitates smooth cutting through material, while the bead-blasted finish gives the blade a matte, technical look.
Green G10, Crossbar Lock, and Phosphor Bronze Washers
The handle is made of green G10. The construction is complemented by steel liners and gray stainless steel spacers. The clip is also made of stainless steel and can be mounted on the right or left side in a tip-up configuration.
Phosphor bronze washers provide the pivot action, while the Crossbar Lock stabilizes the blade when open. Thumb studs on both sides allow for comfortable manual opening.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for Sandvik 14C28N steel?
It’s a good idea to clean the blade regularly and dry it thoroughly. 14C28N combines corrosion resistance with ease of sharpening, making it well-suited for everyday use.
How do you sharpen the Kubey Carve?
14C28N steel is relatively easy to sharpen. Ceramic and water stones, as well as guided sharpening systems, work well and help maintain a consistent edge geometry.
What sharpening angle should be used for the Kubey Carve?
The recommended sharpening angle range is 15°–20°. This allows you to adjust the edge geometry to your preferred balance between cutting aggression and blade durability.
How does the Crossbar Lock work?
The Crossbar Lock uses a transverse locking bar that stabilizes the blade once it’s open. Releasing the lock allows you to fold the knife.
How to maintain the pivot on phosphor bronze washers?
It’s a good idea to regularly clean the area around the pivot of dust and fine debris. If necessary, you can use a small amount of a cleaner designed for the pivot mechanism.
