The Kizer Microbe TSJ AirTi V2742TSJA1 is a compact, non-locking folder featuring the KStop™ Slip Joint mechanism, designed by Maksim Epifantsev for everyday carry. The yellow PEI handle contrasts with the Sandvik 14C28N steel blade coated in black PVD, creating a distinctive and lightweight EDC configuration.
The TSJ variant features a blade hole and a Nail Nick, allowing it to be opened in two ways. The KStop™ mechanism stops the blade’s movement once it exceeds approximately 90°, increasing finger clearance when folding and allowing for more controlled operation of the non-locking design.
Sandvik 14C28N – Steel for a Lightweight EDC
14C28N offers good corrosion resistance, easy sharpening, and properties well-suited for a small utility folder. A hardness of 58–60 HRC maintains a practical balance between edge durability and the ability to quickly restore sharpness.
Drop Point, Flat, and Black PVD Coating
The 54.23 mm Drop Point blade features a versatile geometry suitable for precision work and everyday cutting. The flat grind facilitates efficient cutting through materials, while the black PVD coating gives the surface a contrasting finish.
KStop™ Slip Joint, AirTi, and PEI
KStop™ is a lock-free slip joint designed so that the blade stops moving beyond a 90° angle, providing more clearance for the fingers when closing the knife. The skeletonized Ti-6Al-4V liners form the AirTi structure, while the yellow PEI maintains the modern and lightweight character of the entire design.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for Sandvik 14C28N?
After use, clean and dry the blade. The steel has good corrosion resistance, but basic care helps keep both the edge and the black PVD coating in good condition.
How do you sharpen 14C28N?
The steel sharpens easily on water stones, ceramic stones, and in guided sharpening systems. Very aggressive abrasives are usually not needed for routine touch-ups.
How does the KStop™ Slip Joint work?
KStop™ is a non-locking mechanism that controls the blade’s movement and stops it once it exceeds approximately 90°. This increases finger clearance when folding and allows for more controlled guidance of the blade into the closed position.
What does AirTi mean?
AirTi uses skeletonized Ti-6Al-4V liners that reduce weight without compromising the rigid construction of the handle. This solution is particularly well-suited for a compact EDC folder.
What are the clip’s features?
The steel deep-carry clip is reversible and can be used on either the right or left side. In both configurations, the knife is carried in the tip-up position.
