190,07 €Kizer Durandal Black Aluminum / Gold Camo Fatcarbon, Gunmetal Gray PVD S35VN by Gabor Hajagos – EDC folder with Compound Grind
The Kizer Durandal K3765BD2 is the second variant of the award-winning KIZER X YOU design by Gabor Hajagos. It combines a Drop Point blade made of CPM S35VN steel, a functional Compound Grind, and a handle crafted from black aluminum with striking Fatcarbon® Camo Gold inserts.
The BD2 version retains the same advanced mechanics as the Dark Matter variant: a thumb hole, ambidextrous thumb studs, the Kizer Button Liner Lock™, and ball bearings. It differs, however, with a gunmetal-gray PVD coating, gold accents, and a slightly lower weight.
CPM S35VN – steel for everyday use
The blade is made of CPM S35VN steel with a hardness of 59 ±2 HRC. The material effectively combines corrosion resistance, edge retention, and mechanical strength, making it ideal for folding knives intended for regular use.
Compound Grind – two geometries in one blade
Compound Grind features a Hollow grind on the main portion of the edge and a Flat grind near the tip. The first geometry promotes smooth cutting, while the second reinforces the tip and is better suited for tasks requiring precise scoring or piercing.
Drop Point – a versatile EDC geometry
Drop Point provides a well-controlled tip and a functional edge profile. This profile is suitable for a wide range of everyday tasks, from opening packages to more precise tasks requiring precise tip control.
Gunmetal-gray PVD coating
The blade is coated with a gunmetal-gray PVD coating. The finish is darker and more technical than Satin, but less uniformly black than the BD1 variant, allowing it to harmonize well with the gold Fatcarbon® accents.
Aluminum and Gold Camo Fatcarbon®
The handle combines black aluminum with Fatcarbon® Camo Gold inserts. The colored resin and carbon fiber create a distinctive gold pattern that contrasts with the dark frame and emphasizes the model’s striking character.
Kizer Button Liner Lock™
The Kizer Button Liner Lock™ uses an enlarged semicircular button to release the liner. This design ensures comfortable operation and allows you to close the blade without having to directly push the liner aside with your finger.
Thumb Hole, Dual Thumb Studs, and ball bearings
The Durandal can be opened via the Thumb Hole or using the dual-sided Thumb Studs. The pivot operates on ball bearings, ensuring that the blade’s movement remains smooth and fast regardless of the opening method chosen.
Finger choil, jimping, and gold backspacer
The deep finger choil allows you to move your grip closer to the blade during precision work, while the jimping on the spine improves thumb support. The gold-colored aluminum backspacer complements the Fatcarbon® inserts, and the steel Deep Carry Non-Reversible clip allows for low-profile carry in your pocket.
Why choose the Kizer Durandal K3765BD2?
This variant is for users who want to retain the Durandal’s functionality but prefer a more contrasting aesthetic. S35VN, Compound Grind, Gunmetal Gray PVD, and Gold Camo Fatcarbon® combine to create a folder with a practical design and distinct collector’s appeal.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the BD2 differ from the BD1?
Both models share the same construction and CPM S35VN steel, but the BD2 features Gunmetal Gray PVD, Fatcarbon® Camo Gold, and a gold backspacer. The BD1 has a black PVD coating, Dark Matter Fatcarbon®, and a purple backspacer.
How does the Compound Grind work?
The main part of the blade has a Hollow grind, which promotes a clean cut, while the tip features a Flat grind. This allows for a combination of a thin cutting edge with a stronger tip section.
Is Fatcarbon® just regular carbon fiber?
No. Fatcarbon® combines carbon fiber with colored resin, creating distinctive layered patterns. The Camo Gold version features predominantly gold accents.
Does the Durandal have ball bearings?
Yes. The pivot shaft operates on ball bearings, ensuring smooth opening via the Thumb Hole or Thumb Studs.
Is the clip reversible?
No. The model features a steel Deep Carry Non-Reversible clip in a fixed configuration.
