Microtech Ultratech Gen III ZBP 1120-10 is an OTF Double Action automatic knife featuring a Bayonet blade made of Böhler M390MK steel with a stonewashed finish and a black 6061-T6 aluminum handle. The design utilizes the Dual-Fuel Drive Train™ system and the Zero Blade Play™ Slide Lock, creating a modern take on one of Microtech’s most recognizable models.
The Ultratech’s slim profile remains comfortable for everyday carry, and the 88.90 mm blade length provides a useful cutting surface. The push/pull thumb slider allows you to automatically extend and retract the blade with one hand, while the reversible titanium tip-down clip lets you adjust the carrying orientation for right- or left-handed users.
Böhler M390MK – steel for regular use
The blade is made of Böhler M390MK steel, which offers high corrosion resistance and excellent edge retention. This material is well-suited to the nature of an EDC knife, where edge durability and minimal need for frequent sharpening are important. The flat grind promotes effective cutting and smooth glide through the material.
Bayonet – slender geometry with a central tip
The Bayonet profile is distinguished by a slender, symmetrical line and a centrally located tip. This geometry works well for making precise initial cuts while retaining the characteristic look of the Ultratech family. The flat grind maintains functional cutting properties despite the blade’s distinctly technical form.
Stonewashed – a practical, functional finish
The blade surface has been finished using the stonewashed method, resulting in a matte, slightly irregular texture. This type of finish effectively masks minor signs of everyday use and gives the knife a more rugged, workhorse character. The light-colored blade contrasts with the black handle and highlights the Bayonet profile.
Black 6061-T6 Aluminum
The handle is made of 6061-T6 aluminum in Black. The material provides rigidity while remaining relatively lightweight, and the slim profile makes it easy to carry in a pocket. The black color scheme creates a classic, understated look suitable for both EDC and more technical gear.
Zero Blade Play™ Slide Lock and Dual-Fuel Drive Train™
Zero Blade Play™ Slide Lock works in conjunction with the Dual-Fuel Drive Train™ system to minimize perceptible blade play and ensure smooth operation of the automatic OTF mechanism. The push/pull thumb slider controls both blade deployment and retraction, allowing the entire cycle to be operated with one hand.
Titanium Clip and Ambidextrous Carry
The Ultratech Gen III ZBP is equipped with a titanium clip that can be positioned on the right or left side in a tip-down configuration. This allows you to adjust the carry style to match your dominant hand and enhances comfort during everyday use.
Why Choose the Microtech Ultratech Gen III ZBP 1120-10?
