0,00 €Microtech MSI S/E Fluted Blue Aluminum, Black M390MK by Tony Marfione – a full-size folding knife with a fluted handle
The Microtech MSI 210-1FLBL is a full-size folding knife featuring a Wharncliffe blade made of Böhler M390MK steel, a RAM-LOK lock, and a blue aluminum handle with a fluted finish. The black blade creates a striking contrast with the blue handle, and the MSI’s large size ensures a stable grip and a generous cutting surface.
The Fluted Blue variant stands out with its distinctly contoured handle surface, which improves grip and gives the design a distinctive, technical look. The knife opens via a thumb hole, and ball bearings ensure smooth operation. The RAM-LOK and the reversible titanium tip-up clip support comfortable operation on both sides of the handle.
Böhler M390MK – High-Grade Blade Material
Böhler M390MK steel was developed for Microtech as a variant of the M390 tailored to the brand’s requirements. It features high corrosion resistance and good edge retention, which works well in a large folding knife intended for regular use. Combined with a flat grind, it provides an efficient geometry for a variety of cutting tasks.
Wharncliffe and a Large Cutting Surface
The Wharncliffe profile features a long, straight or nearly straight cutting edge, making it easy to utilize the full length of the blade during use. The clearly defined tip works well for precise initial cuts, and the flat grind supports smooth guidance of the blade through the material.
Black blade finish
The black blade finish emphasizes the MSI’s robust form and creates a strong contrast with the blue handle. The dark surface gives the design a modern, technical character and complements the black backspacer accents well.
Fluted Blue Aluminum – milled texture and a secure grip
The handle is made of aluminum in Blue with a Fluted finish. The contoured surface increases grip and makes it easier to control this large folder while in use. The fluting serves both a functional and stylistic purpose, giving the handle a more dynamic, technical look.
RAM-LOK, Ball Bearings, and Thumb Hole
RAM-LOK allows for convenient blade release from both sides of the handle, while ball bearings support smooth blade movement. The thumb hole serves as the primary opening point and complements the larger proportions of the MSI blade well. Together, these elements create an ergonomic operating system designed for both right- and left-handed users.
Why Choose the Microtech MSI 210-1FLBL?
The Fluted Blue variant stands out thanks to its combination of bold colors and the practical texture of the handle. The large Wharncliffe blade, M390MK steel, RAM-LOK, and ball bearings ensure high functionality, while the titanium clip and ambidextrous operation enhance the convenience of everyday carry.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of fluted milling?
The milled grooves increase the surface texture and help you hold the knife more securely in your hand. At the same time, they reduce the visual bulk of the large aluminum handle.
How does the Wharncliffe profile differ from the Drop Point?
The Wharncliffe has a much simpler edge line and a more distinctly sloping spine, which facilitates controlled cutting on flat surfaces. The Drop Point has a gentler, more versatile tip geometry.
Is the RAM-LOK convenient for left-handed users?
Yes. The lock can be released from either side, and the titanium clip can also be moved to the left side of the handle.
How does the Thumb Hole opening mechanism work?
The thumb rests directly against the hole in the blade and pushes the blade out of the handle. Ball bearings reduce resistance and support smooth blade movement during opening.
