Tenacious FRN Black Blade Plain, medium size solid EDC folder from Spyderco. Fantastic design - exemplary ergonomics - wide blade profile - long cutting edge - attractive value for money! Perfect choice for a person beginning his adventure with Spyderco knives.
Blade - 3.1 mm thick with a wide curved Clip Point profile, provides excellent cutting-edge geometry with low friction. Blade is made of well sharpened 8Cr13MoV stainless steel (equivalent to Japanese AUS-8 steel). Plain type blade is Full Flat Grind for excellent cutting qualities and reduced weight. Glare eliminating black coating. Enlarged 14 mm SpyderHole (Spyderco patent) for easy opening of the blade with cold or wet hands or in a glove. Corrugated thumb rests (spine jimping) and finger choil jimping, index finger rest between handle and cutting edge make it easier to control the knife.
8Cr13MoV - easy to sharpen, stainless knife steel, equivalent to Japanese AUS-8 steel. High content of 13.0% chromium and average 0.8% carbon provide excellent corrosion resistance. The presence of 1.0% silicon, 0.3% molybdenum increase the steel strength and wear resistance. 8Cr13MoV is characterized by high hardness in the range of 57-62 HRC.
Skeleton - of skeletonized stainless-steel plates provides exceptional structural strength, while forming the basis of the Liner-Lock, Michael Walker jimped liner head lock mechanism. The whole is bolted together with torx screws for easy unfolding and folding of the folder.
Handle - black color. Anti-slip Bi-Directional Texturing covers strengthen the grip also when the hands are wet. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) plastic. Metal hourglass clip with four positions (up/down, right/left). A hole (lanyard hole) in the back of the handle for a safety or decorative cord.
