Balisong (butterfly / batangas / taal / butterfly) a kind of folding knife used for defense. Folder derives its name from the village Balisung in the Philippines meaning butterfly singing. Dating back to the 7th century AD, it is considered one of the oldest weapons in the Kali fighting system. It is one of the most recognizable types of knives in the world.
440A - easy to sharpen, stainless knife steel, equivalent to Japanese AUS-6 steel. High content of 16.0% chromium and average 0.6% carbon provide excellent corrosion resistance. The presence of <1.0% silicon and <0.75% molybdenum increases the steel's strength and wear resistance. 440A is characterized by high hardness in the range of 55-59 HRC.
Blade - sharp Dagger blade with a thickness of 2.4 mm. Made of easy to sharpen 440A stainless steel, characterized by high resistance to corrosion. Plain blade has a Flat Grind, which provides excellent cutting properties. At the tip we have a Flat Grind in the lower part of the blade and a false blade in the upper part. This gives the knife excellent piercing qualities while maintaining great strength. After unfolding, the back part of the blade creates a guard that prevents fingers from slipping on the blade. Black protective coating on the blade. Reinforcement with drilled holes strengthens the blade while relieving it.
Handle - with skeleton construction, made of stainless steel. This design in addition to aesthetic advantages, improves grip and reduces the weight of the knife. In the rear part of the handle there is a safety latch which clips the handle arms in both closed and open position. The axis of rotation of the arms has pivot-pins attached. Like the blade, the handle has been treated with a black protective coating.
