N690 - corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C), martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with the addition of molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V) and cobalt 1.50% (Co) for structural uniformity. Features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. Achieves a hardness of 58 HRC. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - a modified Tanto, with a thickness of 6.3 mm. The blade was derived smooth plain blade grind (Flat grind). For additional protection against corrosion, the steel is covered with a chemically polished, non-reflective MIL-C-13924 BURNISHING coating and a stone washed surface treatment - Dark Stone finish.
Handle - a longer enable enhanced chopping and cutting action. Anti-slip linings with rubber-like properties, made of Forprene thermoplastic elastomer (flexible return, softness, resistance to chemicals), guarantee a secure grip even with wet hands.
Sheath - thigh sheath made of abrasion-resistant, waterproof cordura in sand color with the possibility of attachment under the straps of the M.O.L.L.E. (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) system. The holster allows the knife to be carried on a belt or on a vest compatible with the MOLLE system. The lower part of the sheath with Velcro fastening, allowing attachment to the thigh. On the side of the sheath a flint attachment (included), in the pouch paracord and flammable material for lighting a fire with a flint.
