Pacific Salt 2 FRN Yellow, Spyder one of the most popular knives in the SALT line, the size and shape of the legendary Endura knife. An upgraded version of the lightweight folder, designed for use in extreme conditions by Spyderco founder Sal Glesser. It is made from a salt- and rust-resistant H2 steel that is designed to withstand prolonged exposure to moisture, and is unique. Knives made of this steel are in demand among sailors, divers, fishermen, fishermen and survival enthusiasts.
H-2 - improved austenitic stainless knife steel is the successor to H-1 steel, produced by Japanese steel foundry Myodo Foundry. The high-chromium, low-carbon (rolled without heat treatment) stainless steel contains 13.73% chromium, 0.09% carbon, 0.17% copper and 0.06% nitrogen. The knife can stay in fresh water as well as sea water, and will not rust even when left wet after use. The result was achieved by adding chromium and nickel to the steel, and replacing some of the carbon with nitrogen. All the internal parts of the steel have been specially treated, making them resistant to rust and salt.
Spyder Edge - (Spyderco patent) new serrated Spyder blade with improved edge geometry, consists of alternating one large and two small teeth so-called two-step. This pattern increases the length of the cutting edge by up to 24% compared to a straight blade. Ideal for cutting hard materials, plastics and fibrous materials such as ropes, belts, among others.
Blade - with Clip Point profile, 2.9 mm thick. Enlarged 14 mm circular cutout in the SpyderHole wedge (Spyderco patent) increased the hump of the thumb support (notched ramp) and allowed to open the knife with wet or cold hands and in a glove. The serrated blade of the Spyder Edge was derived with a concave grind (Hollow Grind) for effective, deep cuts. Blade Back-Lock with an additional Boye Detent cutout, preventing accidental release of the lock when gripping the knife firmly.
Handle - in yellow color. Made of FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon), a fiberglass reinforced nylon material. Covered with non-slip Bi-Directional Texturing (Bi-Directional Texturing) that strengthens the grip even with wet hands Folder is equipped with a solid screw-on black steel clip (top/bottom, left/right) that allows you to carry the knife in tip-up or tip-down position. In the back of the grips a hole (lanyard hole) for pulling a lanyard or cord.
