14C28N - Martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest development in the range of knife steels produced by Swedish Sandvik steel mills. An optimized chemical composition with a unique combination provides superior quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness and corrosion resistance. By reducing the amount of carbon 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding nitrogen 0.11% (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly improved. Considered an improved version of 13C26 steel. Unbeatable in the price/quality category!

Vacuum & Cryogenic - 14C28N steel has undergone a specialized heat treatment process involving two key steps. Vacuum Heat Treatment - the steel is quenched in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the strength and structural integrity of the steel. Cryogenic Treatment Once heated, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -148°F (-100°C). This transformation converts residual austenite to martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes, 14C28N steel delivers exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and outstanding blade durability.

Blade - with Drop Point profile. Finished masking minor scratches formed during use using the Beadblasted method of bathing with small glass or ceramic beads. The long cutting edge in relation to the Blade's length converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth and smooth operation of the knife's opening mechanism. The flipper fin forms a mini-guard when opened, preventing your hand from slipping on the blade. The knife can also be opened with the help of a hole milled in the wedge. On the back of the upper jimping wedge, a notched thumb rest. The whole is locked with the proven and popular frame lock with a steel inlay to prevent wiping of the lock face.

Handle - is two pieces of solid titanium 6AL4V finished on CNC milling machines with a pattern of intersecting arcs. The simple, sturdy design provides assurance of years of use. A deep finger undercut (fore finger groove) improves grip security. The pivot axis is decorated with a stylized Kubey Knife brand logo. A single-position (right) titanium deep-carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up (blade tip up) position. Above the clip a lanyard hole, a hole for threading a safety or decorative cord.
