M390MK - thanks to the collaboration between engineers from Microtech and Böhler, an exclusive version of M390 steel was created exclusively for Microtech. The carbon content was increased and subjected to more rigorous control, thereby improving the properties of M390 steel to ensure better edge retention, corrosion resistance, and polishability. A martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced using powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy composition, it features exceptionally high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Thanks to its high wear resistance, it maintains edge shape effectively, allowing the blade to retain its sharpness for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). Another advantage is its resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr), alloyed with 1.95% carbon (C) and 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to a range of 59–61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter’s CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.

Cerakote™ - a ceramic-based finish that can be applied to metals, improving a range of physical properties, including abrasion/wear resistance and corrosion resistance. A thin-film, non-reflective, matte protective coating with a low coefficient of friction that is resistant to high temperatures, chemicals, and impact. It ensures durability and hardness.

Ram-Lok (Crossbar Lock) – a crossbar that moves horizontally within longitudinal slots in the steel side plates of the handle frame. When the knife is opened, the locking bar engages from above with the rear part of the blade, preventing it from moving back. This bar is held in place by two springs. Unlocking occurs by pulling the locking bar backward; its ends are accessible through notches in the side plates of the handle. In the closed position, the bar presses against a cam surface at the rear of the blade, preventing it from opening on its own. The advantages of the Ram-Lok lock include resistance to debris, practical insensitivity to dynamic loads, ease of operation with both the right and left hand, and smooth operation.

Blade - machine-ground Sheepfoot type, single-edged S/E (Single Edge). Finished with a black Cerakote™ coating, which effectively masks minor scratches that occur during use. Opens via a thumb hole, making it easy to use for both right- and left-handed users. The blade features a high flat grind, providing excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. To maintain full control over the blade, the blade spine features upper jimping, a serrated thumb rest. The entire unit is secured with a convenient Ram-Lok lock.

Handle - made of durable G10 composite, covered with milled lines (Fluted) for a better grip; in addition to their visual appeal, these lines prevent the knife from slipping in the hand during use. The wide lock slide features Microtech’s signature stepped X pattern. Both scales are secured with a solid aluminum backspacer. A reversible (right/left) clip allows for discreet tip-up carry. Above the clip is a lanyard hole for a safety or decorative cord.
