0,00 €Spyderco Charisma Black FRN, Satin Carpenter CTS BD1N by Eric Glesser – an ultra-lightweight EDC folder with a 1.2 mm blade
Spyderco Charisma C259PBK is an ultralight folding knife designed by Eric Glesser. The model weighs just 23 g and combines a very thin blade made of Carpenter CTS BD1N steel, a black FRN handle, and a classic Back Lock with Boye Dent.
The Charisma features a Thumb Hole opening mechanism, phosphor bronze washers, and a reversible deep-carry wire clip in a right/left, tip-up configuration. The linerless construction, a 1.2 mm thick blade, and a contoured FRN handle combine to create an exceptionally lightweight folder for everyday carry.
Carpenter CTS BD1N – nitrogen-enriched stainless steel
The blade is made of Carpenter CTS BD1N steel with a hardness of 60 HRC. This nitrogen-enriched stainless steel provides a practical combination of corrosion resistance, cutting performance, and ease of maintenance. After use, it is recommended to clean the blade and dry it thoroughly.
Modified Wharncliffe / Drop Point and Full Flat Grind
The blade profile combines the features of Modified Wharncliffe and Drop Point, offering a functional tip and a long cutting edge. Full flat grind and a blade thickness of just 1.2 mm facilitate smooth, precise cutting of cardboard, tape, packaging, and other lightweight materials.
Black FRN, linerless construction, and Back Lock with Boye Dent
The handle is made of black FRN without steel liners, which reduces the overall weight of the knife. Longitudinal grooves and a textured finish improve the grip. The Back Lock by Boye Dent stabilizes the blade when open, and the distinctive indentation reduces the risk of accidental release of the mechanism.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I care for and sharpen Carpenter CTS BD1N steel?
After use, clean the blade and dry it thoroughly. Water stones, ceramic stones, diamond sharpeners, or a sharpening guide work well for sharpening CTS BD1N.
How does the Back Lock with Boye Dent work?
The Back Lock uses a spring-loaded element located on the back of the handle that locks the blade in the open position. Boye Dent is a recess in the lock lever that reduces the risk of accidentally pressing it when gripping the knife firmly.
What are the benefits of a 1.2 mm-thick blade?
A thin blade offers less resistance during cutting and works well with cardboard, paper, tape, packaging, and other lightweight materials.
What is FRN?
FRN is a fiberglass-reinforced plastic used to produce lightweight and durable handles. In the Charisma model, it helps reduce weight without the need for steel liners.
What does a tip-up clip mean?
A tip-up configuration means that when the knife is closed, the tip of the blade points upward. On this model, the clip can be moved to either the right or left side of the Handle.
