N690 - corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C), martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V) and cobalt 1.50% (Co) for structural uniformity. Features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. It achieves a hardness of 57-60 HRC. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - radically durable, 4 mm thickness with Tanto profile. On both sides of the blade - blood grooves. The blade is covered with a mate, non-reflective MIL-C-13924 BURNISHING coating. Smooth blade (Plain type) was made with a full flat cut (Flat grind), which maintains high sharpness of the cutting edge.
Handle - full-size 5” type FH (Full Handle) type used in Extrema Ratio knives. Textured, non-slip linings with rubber-like properties, made of elastic thermoplastic Forprene (elastic return, softness, resistance to chemicals), ensure a secure grip even with wet hands. The steel head with an oval hole (lanyard hole) that allows you to pull a leash or a safety rope can act as a hammer / glass breaker.
