All blades of MAM Filmam knives are made of high-quality AISI 420 stainless steel from German Thyssen-Krupp steel mills which is treated and hardened as for VG-10 steel, thus achieving the use of the maximum capabilities of 420 steel. Additions of molybdenum, vanadium, silicon and carbon make the steel hardenable up to 57 HRC, and provide strength, toughness, machinability and excellent corrosion resistance. The high carbon content produces chromium carbide compounds, providing wear resistance and holding the sharpness of the cutting edge after hardening. Head type Trailing Point 1.9 mm thick. Made of high quality German (ThyssenKrupp) stainless steel AISI 420. Plain blade, derived with a full flat grind, which, combined with the slight thickness of the blade, provides above-average cutting properties. The knife opens with a notch on the wedge nail nickname.
The handle was made from a single piece of olive wood reinforced on the side of the wedge with steel ring. Ergonomic grip does not cause fatigue even during prolonged use. On one side of the handle burnished logo of the manufacturer. The handle material undergoes a fourfold process of impregnation, making it resistant to moisture and water, fresh and salt sea water.
