946,25 €Proxima started life as Gigantes. For people who wanted a huge folding knife, it was amazing. For the rest of planet Earth, a change of attitude was required. The overall length was reduced to 8.8", 4.9" closed blade length and 3.9" blade length. All materials are nominally 3/16" thick, making it more EDC friendly. The extreme dimensions of the design and construction (similar to the flagship Praetorian) of this knife are quite unique in the world of folding knives. The harpoon-style blade with a false cutting edge at the tip is made from CPM S45VN, a modern premium steel with excellent properties for use in cutting tools. CPM S45VN - corrosion resistant, mechanical stress resistant American CPM S45VN powder steel with added carbon, chromium and vanadium with a hardness of 58-59 HRC which is a developmental version of the well-known and popular S30V steel. This unique steel is designed for the manufacture of premium blades and knives, produced at Crucible Inc.'s steel mills.
Proxima Bronze/PVD Black Titanium, Black PVD has a Blade with a black PVD coating, hand laid concave grinds and a striking embossing, with which we open the knife.
