CPM S35VN - American martensitic high-alloy stainless steel with a hardness of 59-61 HRC, one of the best blade steels. Designed to provide better strength compared to CPM S30V, while keeping corrosion resistance at the highest level. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy/ Crucible® Particle Metallurgy(CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. The chemical composition has been balanced so that it is composed of 0.5% niobium carbides (Nb) along with 3.0% vanadium (V) and 14.0% chromium (Cr) carbides. Replacing some of the niobium carbides with vanadium carbides makes the steel about 15-20% harder than S30V without sacrificing wear resistance, and it is also easier to machine and polish. The improved strength of CPM S35VN also provides better resistance to edge chipping.
S/A (Single Action) OTF - a knife with a blade that can be ejected by pressing a button, but once ejected, the blade must be retracted by hand. This means that the blade can be ejected in less than a second, making this type of OTF very fast. However, once you are done, you must retract the blade by pulling the lever located at the bottom of the handle. One of the main advantages of single-action OTFs is the simplified mechanism which makes them very strong and very durable. They require fewer parts, so there are fewer components that can break. This simplicity also means the knife is less prone to failure during use.
Blade - machine ground, sharpened on both sides (Double Edge), finished with an elegant satin finish. The blade is brought out with a flat gr ind (Flat Grind), providing excellent cutting properties. Thanks to this and the long guide hole in the center of the blade, the knife has excellent piercing properties while maintaining its strength. The powerful Thumb Button mechanism for extending the blade , requires for safety the application of a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring. The method of opening provides trouble-free opening for both right and left-handed people.
Handle - made with excellent precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines from 6061-T6 Aluminum, anodized black. Handle surface texture and deep notches (jimping) on the back and bottom make the knife non-slip in the hand during use. The slim profile and single-position (right) titanium flat clip, allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket, in tip-down (blade tip down) position. Behind the blade release button is a safety slide, sliding it back prevents accidental opening. In the front part of the handle thickenings form a mini guard to prevent the hand from slipping on the blade. At the bottom of the lever that tightens the mechanism, if you want to fold the knife just press the button and pull the spring by moving the lever backwards. Extremely simple and reliable solution, giving the possibility of using a stronger spring.
